Wednesday night, our Congressman, Alan Grayson, appeared on the CBS Evening News. You can see the CBS news report, called "The Impossible-to-Track Bank Bailout," here:
CBS
reported on Grayson's close questioning of the Federal Reserve at a
hearing on Capitol Hill last week. The questioning revealed that "the
Fed" has disbursed $1.2 TRILLION since September. As Grayson pointed
out, that's $4000 for every man, woman and child in America. And the
Fed wouldn't tell Grayson who got the money! Or what the Fed received
in return.
Grayson's incisive questioning is already a cult classic on the Internet. It was posted immediately on YouTube, and 60,000 people have seen it. In fact, it was one of the 100 most viewed videos on YouTube last week. See it yourself:
Here are some of the reactions:
"Thanks, Congressman Grayson! Keep up the good work. Don't let them get away with this chicanery."
"I wish there were more men like Congressman Alan Grayson."
"I like this guy Grayson. He seems very intelligent."
"Bravo, Rep. Grayson. Hold their feet to the fire."
"Way
to go, Alan Grayson! That is exactly the type of attitude every member
of Congress should have when it comes to this stuff."
"Note to Grayson: take them to task and prevent them from looting our pockets, and we - the people - won't forget it."
"Congressman
Grayson, thank you for grilling him for answers. He's dead wrong.
Americans do want to know. In fact, we want the names of everyone who
got our tax money. There is too much corruption in our government and
it has to stop! There is no accountability in DC, and we are FED UP!!
Demand answers and don't let them off the hook until you have a
complete accounting of where every penny was spent. It's time the
corrupt politicians go to prison, or to the gallows!"
"Thank you, Alan Grayson! Imagine, a Congressman fighting for us, the American taxpaying public. Once again, THANK YOU!"
In Grayson's first week in office, the New York Times quoted Grayson's stirring speech on the floor of the House, in support of children's health.
Now,
in his third week, Grayson's defense of the taxpayers has made the CBS
Evening News. And his vote yesterday for the recovery bill has brought
$120 million to Orange County schools.
That's the change we need. And that's the change we've got. Go, Alan!
